Nobilis® Gumboro D78

Intectious Bursal Disease

Description :
A freeze-dried culture of the non-pathogenic strain D78 of Gumboro Disease (Infectious Bursal Disease), containing at least 104 PFU per bird dose. The vaccine pellet contains stabilizers and gentamicin has been added during the production process.

Indication :
Active immunization of chickens against Gumboro disease.

Administration :
Through the drinking water. The oculo/nasal or spraying method may also be used.

Vaccination Programme :
Vaccination at 14 to 21 days of age of flocks known to carry maternal antibodies against Gumboro Disease. More than one vaccination may be necessary in flocks with a wide range of maternal antibody levels.

Immunity :
Extensive surveys in the field have demonstrated that most broler chicks carry maternal antibodies against Gumboro Disease. The immune response of birds with maternal antibodies depends on the level of antibodies present and on the ability of the vaccine strain to break through the maternal immunity. In progeny from parents vaccinated with live vaccines and those from parents which had undergone field infection it usually takes about 30 days until the maternal antibodies are eliminated. In practice active immunization is often required before the antibodies have waned and the birds are fully susceptible. The strain D78 is effective in the face of the antibody level usually existing in such flocks at 14 to 21 days of age. The vaccine does not cause a clinical reaction and immunosuppression by strain D78 is negligible.

Presentations :
Vials of 1000, 2500 doses of vaccine in boxes of 10 vials.
