In young piglets under 10 kg body weight, the subcutaneous route is preferred.
This dose rate also has been shown to result in high oxytetracycline blood levels within thirty minutes post- injection in cattle, buffaloes, pigs and sheep, and these high levels are maintained for eight to twelve hours depending on the species.
